Babylon center for historical and cultural studies is one of the centers of the presidency of the university of Babylon that is connected with the Iraqi ministry of higher education. The center was founded in 23/8/2008 after merging Hilla documents center with Babylon studies center. The center works on following up research plans and making schedules for every research. The researcher has to present a reports about the stages of the research and give solutions to the problems he faces in the periodical meetings between the administrator of the center and the researchers. The center also evaluate researches and decide their validity for publication. Moreover, the center holds historical sessions and weekly introductory seminars about Babylon city.
The center also follow up the publication of books and supply the library of the university to raise the scientific level of students. The center also dedicate these books to the researchers from outside the university and to the centers and Iraqi universities. The center issued a journal for publishing humanitarian studies and follow up the tasks of the museum like gypsum statues done by artists from the college of fine arts…. Connecting with the Babylonian society to collect old maps and documents to update the library and facilitate the work of researchers.
